P3 NAMED OFFICIAL PROTEIN SNACK OF UFC®

LAS VEGAS and CHICAGO – UFC®, the world’s premier mixed martial arts organization, today announced a new marketing partnership with Oscar Mayer®.  The partnership names P3 Portable Protein Packs as “Official Protein Snack” of UFC, creating a new, exclusive sponsorship category for the MMA promotion.

P3 Portable Protein Snacks deliver a tasty combination of meat, cheese, nuts, and fruits, all in one portable pack. They come in multiple varieties and sizes, all offering a convenient way for consumers to get their protein. Oscar Mayer established the Adult Snacking segment with P3 in 2014, and since its launch, the P3 brand has successfully built awareness and has grown in popularity with consumers. They are widely distributed in retail grocery and convenience stores across the country. The UFC partnership will further expand awareness to a new and coveted loyal MMA fan base.  

Under the terms of this partnership, P3 will have a branded presence inside the world-famous Octagon® at select UFC events for the remainder of the year. Additional partnership activations will include the integration of P3 branding throughout UFC’s telecasts, digital media campaigns, and Fight Week integrations. At select participating retail locations, P3 displays will feature images of UFC athletes and official UFC logos at point of sale.

The first P3 activation with UFC will begin on Saturday, September 8, with UFC® 228: WOODLEY vs. TILL, featuring the highly anticipated welterweight championship bout that will see Tyron Woodley defend against undefeated No.2-ranked contender Darren Till.

UFC® ANNOUNCES NEW MARKETING PARTNERSHIP WITH BLACKHEART PREMIUM SPICED RUM

Las Vegas – UFC®, the world’s premier mixed martial arts organization, today announced a new marketing partnership agreement with Blackheart Premium Spiced Rum, in which the distilled spirits brand will serve as the organization’s first-ever “Official Rum of UFC” in the United States. Blackheart Premium Spiced Rum is owned by Heaven Hill Brands®, America’s largest independent family-owned and operated distilled spirits company.

Multi-Year Global Partnership Establishes New Sponsorship category for UFC

Las Vegas and Nemyriv, Ukraine – UFC®, the world’s premier mixed martial arts organization, today announced a new, multi-year global marketing partnership with Nemiroff, one of the best-selling vodkas in the world.

In a thrilling featherweight contenders’ bout, No.3-ranked Frankie Edgar will battle No.10 Chan Sung Jung. Also, No.12-ranked welterweight Donald Cerrone will throw down with Mike Perry in a fight guaranteed to deliver fireworks. UFC FIGHT NIGHT®: EDGAR vs. KOREAN ZOMBIE takes place Sat., November 10 at Pepsi Center and will air live on FS1.

A former lightweight champion and two-time featherweight title challenger, Edgar (21-6-1, fighting out of Toms River, N.J.) has beaten some of the biggest names in MMA. Over the course of his storied career, he’s earned impressive victories over B.J. Penn (three times), Cub Swanson (twice), Urijah Faber, Chad Mendes and Jeremy Stephens. He now aims to steal the show and stake his claim for another title shot against one of the division’s most aggressive and dynamic finishers.

Among the most exciting fighters on the UFC roster, Jung (14-4, fighting out of Seoul, South Korea) is known for his spectacular highlight-reel finishes. The Korean Zombie is the only fighter in UFC history to win by twister submission and holds one of the fastest KO wins at seven seconds. He returned to action last year following mandatory military service with a first-round KO over Dennis Bermudez. Jung hopes to continue his climb up the featherweight ranks and earn the biggest victory of his career.

The co-main event will feature two perennial fan favorites in a bout that could take home Fight of the Night honors.

Former lightweight title challenger and Denver native Cerrone (33-11 1NC, fighting out of Albuquerque, N.M.) has delivered some of the most thrilling fights inside the Octagon®. Since moving to welterweight in 2016, he’s earned impressive stoppage wins against Yancy Medeiros, Matt Brown, Rick Story and Patrick Cote. He now looks to rebound with a victory in his hometown.

A hard-hitting KO artist, Perry (12-3, fighting out of Orlando, Fla.) immediately turned heads when he joined the UFC in 2016. Known for his aggressive striking, Perry’s netted impressive KO victories over Jake Ellenberger, Danny Roberts, Hyun Gyu Lim and Alex Reyes. On the heels of his first decision win, over Paul Felder in July, he’s poised to add a MMA superstar to his resume.

#Knockeando UFC 214...Jones lo vuelve hacer....

No hay mejor manera en el MMA de callarle la boca a un soberano bocón que propinándole un buen KO. Pero aun más dulce se hace cuando se convierte en la forma para descargar la furia y frustración de pagar todas las malas decisiones que te hicieron alejarte de lo que te apasiona hacer. Jon Jones regresa al lugar que nunca debió ceder, vuelve a ser campeón, vuelve a ser el mismo que antes fue, uno de los mejores en el mundo, el invencible. Jon Jones (23-1) solo necesitó una soberana patada a la cabeza, seguida de un baile de puños, para volver a vencer al ahora ex campeón Light Heavyweight Daniel Cormier (19-2). Cormier terminó adolorido, lloroso, frustrado y resentido; pero a su vez se dio cuenta que su mayor piedra se llama Jon Jones. La únicas dos derrotas de Cormier han sido ante el nuevo campeón. La 1era Jones la ganó por decisión unánime en UFC 182, esta la ganó por KO a los 3:01 del 1er asalto. Son 11 las victorias de Jones cuando pelea por una faja en UFC. “Never is over…Is long you never quit”; exclamó Jones luego de la victoria. Jones aprovechó para lanzarle un reto al luchador de WWE Brock Lesnar… “Meet me in the octagon”. ¿Lesnar vs Jones será posible?
Tyron Woodley (18-3-1) retuvo su faja Welterweight vía decisión unánime (50-45, 49-46 y 49-46) sobre Demian Maia (25-6). Woodley nuevamente dio una pelea aburrida para el público y desperdició oportunidades para terminar antes de la distancia a Maia, que lo único que hacía era intentando takedowns. Cris Cyborg (18-1-1NC) demostró su poderío y dominio con rodillazos brutales y combinaciones para coronarse la nueva campeona Featherweight de Mujeres. Cyborg abusó por de principio a fin de Tonya Evinger (19-6-1NC) hasta que se apuntó su victoria #16 de 18 por la vía del KO. La victoria vía TKO llegó a los 1:56 del 3er asalto.
La mejor pelea de la noche fue la batalla de Welterweight entre Robbie Lawler (28-11-1NC) vs Donald Cerrone (32-9-1NC). Estos dos se fueron palo a palo de campana a campana sin piedad. Ambos se pusieron en malas condiciones en diferentes asaltos y como quieran siguieron para adelante. Los presentes se metieron dentro de la pelea y le agradecieron su entrega con una ovación al final de la misma. Lawler se llevó la cerrada victoria por decisión unánime (29-28, 29-28 y 29-28). El palo de la noche fue Volkan Oezdemir (15-1) cuando se apuntó un triunfo vía KO a los 42 segundos del 1er asalto ante Jimi Manuwa (17-3) con varias izquierdas cortas seguida de una fulminante. “I don’t know what is in my hand but is dynamite”; exclamó el rankeado #5 en el Welterweight. Estas peleas fueron el Main Card de UFC 214 desde el Honda Center en Anaheim, California. Sobre 16 mil pagaron la taquilla para ver el evento.
Lo triste es saber que nuevamente Jones dio positivo a uso de drogas ilegales y de inmediato fue despojado de la faja. Nuevamente Jones la caga con la UFC y sus fans, sin duda debe ser la última oportunidad que se le de a este señor y debe ser borrada la derrota a Cormier.
