Increíble la desigualdad en este caso aunque quieran ver a Wagner como el que provocó la situación. Un bombazo "clutch" y 30 puntos de Huertes fueron la clave del triunfo 126-125 de Sacramento sobre Utah. NBA ANNOUNCES SUSPENSIONS FROM PISTONS-MAGIC GAME

NEW YORK, Dec. 29, 2022 – Detroit Pistons guard Killian Hayes has been suspended three games without pay, Orlando Magic center Moritz Wagner two games without pay and Pistons guard Hamidou Diallo one game without pay for their roles in an on-court altercation, it was announced today by Joe Dumars, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations.

In addition, eight other Magic players – guards Cole Anthony, R.J. Hampton, Gary Harris and Kevon Harris, forwards Admiral Schofield and Franz Wagner and centers Mo Bamba and Wendell Carter, Jr. – have each been suspended one game without pay for leaving the bench area during an on-court altercation.

The incident began when Wagner, who was assessed a Flagrant Foul 2 and ejected, committed an unsportsmanlike act when he pushed Hayes into the Detroit bench while both players were pursuing a loose ball. Diallo, who received a technical foul and was ejected, continued the altercation when he pushed Wagner from behind. Hayes then escalated the altercation when he punched Wagner in the back of the head. Hayes was given a technical foul and ejected.

The incident occurred with 33.2 remaining in the second quarter of the Pistons’ 121-101 win over the Magic on Dec. 28 at Little Caesars Arena.

Hayes will begin his three-game suspension and Diallo will serve his one-game suspension Friday when the Pistons visit the Chicago Bulls at United Center.

Wagner’s two-game suspension will begin Friday when the Magic plays host to the Washington Wizards at Amway Center.

The one-game suspensions issued to the eight Magic players for leaving the bench area during an altercation will be served on a staggered basis to ensure, per league rule, that Orlando has eight healthy players available to play in its next two games. Anthony, Bamba, Carter, Jr., Hampton and Gary Harris will serve their suspensions Friday vs. the Wizards. Kevon Harris, Schofield and Franz Wagner will be suspended for Orlando’s following game Jan. 4 in Oklahoma City at Paycom Center.

Tom & Mark Billington vs. Bomaye Fight Club signed for MLW Blood & Thunder

TV trucks roll up to Philadelphia January 7 for a huge TV taping

(PHILADELPHIA) — Major League Wrestling today announced The Billington Bulldogs (Tom & Mark Billington) vs. BOMAYE Fight Club (Myron Reed & Mr. Thomas) at MLW Blood & Thunder on Saturday, January 7 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.

🎟 Tickets start at $15 at MLW2300.com and the 2300 Arena box office.

The card is an MLW TV taping, airing nationwide in the US and in over 60 countries around the world.

One of the sport’s most celebrated British dynasties collide with the hottest fight team in MLW: the BOMAYE Fight Club in Philadelphia.

The bone-crushing power of Mr. Thomas and finesse of Myron Reed will represent the BOMAYE Fight Club as they look to stomp out the emerging force in the tag team division, Mark and Thomas Billington.

The fight team, composed of the 2019 Opera Cup winner Davey Boy Smith Jr., and his cousins Thomas and Mark Billington, collectively as the British Bulldogs, have united to win gold and glory in MLW.

The Billington Family, which roots date back to being executioners in the late 1800s before venturing into combat sports, has been a fixture of the squared circle for over a century. From bare knuckle fights to boxing to the Dynamite Kid’s prolific pro wrestling career, the Billington Family is a storied brawling British clan.

The legendary tag team of cousins Davey Boy Smith Sr. and “Dynamite Kid” Tom Billington, the British Bulldogs, defined tag team wrestling in the 1980s, dominating every organization from Japan to North America to Europe. Decorated in gold, Smith and Billington were feared and respected for their tenacity and innovation.

Now the Smiths and Billingtons reunite as a new generation forge a new chapter in their family’s rich history.

Debuting in 2019, Mark and Thomas, the nephews of the Dynamite Kid, have recently been training for their MLW debut with their cousin Davey Boy and another distant relative in Canada: Bret “Hitman” Hart.

What will the trio have in store for fans and BOMAYE at Blood & Thunder? Only time will tell, but they will be up against some stiff competition.

Mark and Tom Billington will be up against the 3-time World Middleweight Champ Reed and the heavy hitting muscle of BOMAYE in Mr. Thomas.

With payback for the Opera Cup on their minds, the Bulldogs are in the hunt for retribution.

Which team will reign supreme?

PHILADELPHIA 76ERS’ TYRESE MAXEY RECEIVES NOVEMBER NBA CARES COMMUNITY ASSIST AWARD

-NBA to donate $10,000 to the Tyrese Maxey Foundation-

NEW YORK, December 23, 2022 – The NBA today announced Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey as the NBA Cares Community Assist Award winner for the month of November in recognition of his dedication to strengthening families and communities and supporting youth development.   Each month of the regular season the award recognizes a player who best demonstrates the passion that the league and NBA players share for giving back to their communities.

Amidst NBA Cares Season of Giving, Maxey and the Tyrese Maxey Foundation donated 300 turkey meals to families in need in West Philadelphia during the Thanksgiving Holiday.  In partnership with both community and corporate partners, the Foundation gathered volunteers to help pack the meals for distribution at the Tustin Recreations Center, ensuring each family received a turkey, a five-pound bag of potatoes and other traditional Thanksgiving meal items.

Earlier this year, Maxey supported the 76ers’ back-to-school efforts in taking part in a surprise pep rally for the students at Forest Hill Elementary School in Camden, NJ.  During the rally, Maxey discussed with students the importance of respecting their teachers, regular attendance to classes, focus during the school day and goal setting.  All 300 students at the event received a new backpack and school supplies while every educator at the school received 76ers swag to deck out their classrooms and help further inspire students.  In addition to his work with local students, throughout the summer Maxey spent his time helping to provide youth ages 7-12 access to the game through his 1% Skills Camp.  A priority for Maxey is accessibility, and each camp hosted in Philadelphia, Garland, TX and Lexington, KY were offered free of charge for all participants, serving more than 500 youth.  The 1% Skills Camp teaches student-athletes how to get one percent better as an overall athlete and provides a one-of-a-kind experience inclusive of enhanced training, pre- and post-game workouts and valuable nutrition tips.

"I’m grateful to God, my community, and the NBA for this honor," said Maxey. "I feel really connected to families in Philly and Dallas because they work so hard day in and day out and I understand that hustle - to be in a position to give back, I'm truly blessed."

Maxey will be recognized during an on-court ceremony before the 76ers’ home contest against the LA Clippers on Friday, Dec. 23 at 7 p.m. ET.  Head coach Doc Rivers will present him with the award. The NBA will donate $10,000 to the Tyrese Maxey Foundation.

The NBA Cares Community Assist Award honors the standard set by NBA Legend David Robinson, who improved the community piece by piece.  To learn more, please visit https://communityassist.nba.com/.

FIBA Intercontinental Cup four-team field announced with Tenerife playing host

DECEMBER 22, 2022

MIES (Switzerland) - The next edition of the FIBA Intercontinental Cup is set to take place from February 10-12, 2023 and will see the champions of four regional club leagues - Lenovo Tenerife, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, São Paulo and U.S. Monastir - vying for the coveted trophy in Tenerife, Spain.

The event will take place at Pabellon Insular Santiago Martin, the venue that hosted the 2020 edition of the FIBA Intercontinental Cup, as well as the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2018 Final and the Basketball Champions League Final Four in 2017.

The hosts of the tournament, reigning BCL champions Lenovo Tenerife, will be hoping to add a third FIBA Intercontinental Cup title to their trophy case, having stepped at the top of the podium in the 2017 and 2020 editions of the competition.

Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the 2022 NBA G League champions, are the only other contender with prior experience of the event - and the venue, for that matter - as they took part in the 2020 edition, which was also staged in Tenerife.

U.S. Monastir are set to make history as the first ever Tunisian club and only the second club from Africa, after Egypt's Zamalek, to compete in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup, courtesy of their amazing conquest of the BAL trophy in 2022.

Brazil's São Paulo meanwhile will certainly land in Tenerife having proven they are fearless newcomers, as they will make their FIBA Intercontinental Cup debut on the back of conquering the BCL Americas crown in their first ever campaign in the competition.

"The FIBA Intercontinental Cup is at the forefront of FIBA's strategic endeavors to shape the landscape of international club competitions for the good of the game globally," commented FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis.

"This edition will mark only the second club tournament in basketball history to feature contenders representing four different regional competitions, building on the success of last year's milestone event in Egypt, the first ever to be held in Africa," Mr. Zagklis added.

The draw for the 32nd edition of the FIBA Intercontinental Cup will take place in early January 2023. The tournament will tip off on Friday, February 10, 2023 when the two Semi-Finals take place and it will conclude on Sunday, February 12, 2023 with the Final and the 3rd-Place game.

In the 2022 edition, in Cairo, Brazil’s Flamengo became the first club outside of Europe and the USA to win multiple FIBA Intercontinental Cup titles after prevailing 75-62 over Spain’s San Pablo Burgos in the Final.

The most successful club in competition history are Spanish giants Real Madrid, who have conquered the trophy on five occasions.
