    La puerta se abrió para darle paso a los luchadores de NJPW en la AEW gracias al acuerdo de trabajar juntas entre ambas empresas. Nuevamente los luchadores de NJPW tienen la tremenda oportunidad de darse a conocer e implantar bandera en el territorio de los Estados Unidos con este evento denominado Forbidden Door desde el United Center en Chicago, Illinois. Sobre 16,529 personas abarrotaron la cancha de los Chicago Bulls para disfrutar de una cartelera que estuvo buena de principio a fin. A pesar de que cada vez que AEW le abre la puerta a compañías estas salen ganando como Impact y NJPW, sin duda este evento en conjunto estuvo tan bueno como el G1 de años atrás donde ROH lo trabajó junto con NJPW. Definitivo siempre es bueno ver es junte de empresas y se espera un segundo evento en Japón pronto.

    Jon Moxley se coronó el nuevo AEW World Champion, interino, al vencer a la leyenda viviente Hiroshi Tanahashi en una magistral lucha. Moxley sangró, revivió en cada falso final y puso su marca en 51-4 con un empate en AEW, al finalmente vencer a Tanahashi con su movida final. Luego de la lucha se pudo apreciar un presagio de lo que será Blood & Guts cuando sus integrantes se pelearon dentro del ring. This is Awesome y Fight for Ever! fueron los gritos de los presentes para agradecer la magistral lucha por el IWGP World Heavyweight Championship entre Jay White, Adam Cole, Adam "Hangman" Page y Kazuchika Okada. Los cuatros luchadores tuvieron su momento de lucir y lograron el favor de los presentes. Jay White retuvo el campeonato con un Blade Runner a Okada y planchando a Cole. Cole parece que se lastimó en la lucha y por eso el extraño final. Sin duda me quede con ganas de más. 

    Una de las mejores luchas de mujeres desde que comenzó AEW la dieron Thunder Rosa y Toni Storm. Las dos hermosas mujeres dieron una excelente lucha, digna de un campeonato. Storm estuvo cerca; pero Rosa retuvo con una bonita movida final. La mejor lucha de la noche la dieron Orange Cassidy y Will Ospreay por el IWGP United States Championship. Estos dos metieron al publico con sus ocurrencias, movidas y falsos finales. No faltaron los gritos de This is Awesome para certificar la clase de luchón que dieron estos dos muchachos. Ospreay retuvo su campeonato con su Star Breaker. Pac se convirtió en el nuevo campeón All-Atlantic de AEW al vencer en un 4 way match a Miro, Malakai Black y Clark Connors. Esta fue otra magistral lucha que trajo esta cartelera de Forbidden Door y que a su vez, estrenó un nuevo campeonato dentro de AEW. Los falsos finales metieron a los presentes de una manera que no se podían sentar de lo bueno que se puso la lucha. Pac se llevo la victoria vía rendición sobre Connors. Crédito a Connors, quien entró como un desconocido a la lucha y salió con el respeto de los presentes. Lucha 5 estrellas sin duda alguna para los 4 luchadores. 

    FTR siguen imparables. Cash Wheeler y Dax Harwood se coronaron los nuevos campeones en Parejas de IWGP y a su vez, retuvieron sus campeonatos en Parejas de ROH, al vencer a la dupla de Jeff Cobb & Great-O-Khan y al Roppongi Vice compuesto por Rocky Romero y Tren Barreta, con una bonita movida final. FTR sigue a un nivel alto y lo próximo es otra batalla con los Briscoes. La gran sorpresa de la AEW fue el debut de Claudio Castagnoli (Cesaro en WWE), quien venció a Zack Sabre Jr en una excelente lucha técnica al ras de la lona. Claudio es otro ex-WWE que entra a las filas de la AEW y se espera que no tarde mucho en tener el campeonato que nunca le dio la WWE. Si es que lo saben usar mejor. Ya veremos. En la lucha revolu de la noche el trío de Chris Jericho, Minoru Suzuki y Sammy Guevara vencieron al trío de Eddie Kingston, Shota Umino y Wheeler Yuta. La lucha fue un completo desacierto de principio a fin. La peor de la noche. Sting se lanzó del tope del tunel donde entran los luchadores sobre los Young Bucks y El Phantasmo, para arrancar una interesante y divertida lucha. Sting hizo pareja con Darby Allin y Shingo Takagi para renombrarse como los Dudes with Attitudes. Del otro lado estaba parte del Bullet Club. Los técnicos se apuntaron el triunfo para el deleite de los presentes. 

    El Buy In antes del evento tuvo 4 luchas muy buenas. Yoshi-Hashi e Hirooki Goto derrotaron a QT Marshall y Aaron Solo. Lance Archer venció a Nick Comoroto. La increíble pareja de Swerve Scott y Keith Lee vencieron a El Desperado y Yoshinobu Kanemaru con el Big Ban Catastrophe. Eso fue una batalla entre el Suzuki Gun vs Swerve in our Glory. El Gunn Club y Max Carter derrotaron el NJPW LA Dojo compuesto por The DKC, Kevin Knight, Alex Coughlin y Yuya Uemura. Los Ass boys abandonaron la lucha para desquitarse del vídeo que DanHausen le hizo burlándose de ellos. Billy Gunn y Max lograron la victoria con una bonita combinación del Famouser con el Mic Drop. La gente no dejaba de gritar: We want the Ass Boys!

    The Inner Circle vencieron a The Pinnacle en el Stadium Stampede Match con un 630 de Sammy Guevara. Jungle Boy ganó el Casino Battle Royal donde participaron Christian Cage, Matt Sydal, Matt Hardy, Powerhouse Hobbs, Evil Uno, Colt Cabana, Isiah Kassidy, Marq Quen, Penta El Zero Miedo, Max Caster (The Acclaimed). Nick Comoroto, Lee Johnson, Dustin Rhodes, Varsity Blonds, The Blade, 10, Serpentico, Anthony Bowens (The Acclaimed), Aaron Solow y la sorpresa Lio Rush. Los últimos tres fueron Cage, Hardy y Jungle Boy. Boy eliminó a Cage para ganar una oportunidad titular. Sting y Darby Allin derrotaron a la dupla de Ethan Page y Scorpio Sky. Cody Rhodes derrotó a la promesa del boxeo Anthony Ogogo. Ogogo lució enorme dentro del ring. "Hangman" Adam Page sacó varios momentos "Holy Shit" antes de vencer a Brian Cage. En el Buy In; Serena Deeb retuvo en un luchón su NWA Women's World Championship al vencer a Riho. 

    Los Young Bucks retuvieron sus campeonatos de Parejas en AEW al vencer la dupla de Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston gracias a la ayuda de Doc Gallows y Karl Anderson. En una batalla a palo limpio, Miro, derrota a Lance Archer para retener el campeonato de TNT. Britt Baker derrota en un luchón a Hikaru Shida para coronarse la nueva campeona Femenina de AEW. Shida estuvo más de un año de campeona. En la mejor lucha de la noche, la cual arrancó momentos Holy Shit! y This is Aweome!, Kenny Omega retuvo su campeonato Mundial de AEW al vencer a PAC y Orange Cassidy. El final estuvo medio rarito ya que Omega viró un puño de Cassidy para lograr el conteo de 3.

La AEW abarrotó el Wintrust Arena en Chicago, Illinois, con un excelente evento denominado AEW Revolution. Una sólida cartelera que continuó las historias desarrolladas en Dynamite y que dejó la puerta abiertas para continuar algunas riñas y hasta para crear algunas nuevas. La lucha que se robó el evento fue la de Pac ante Orange Cassidy. Está lucha arrancó gritos de This is awesome! sin apenas tocarse. También logró gritos de Holy shit! This is wrestling! y Fight for ever! Todos conocemos a Pac, un ex-WWE que mató la división crucero, pero Orange Cassidy, un desconocido que se a metido en el bolsillo a los fans con sus locuras y estilo diferente. Pac ganó la lucha vía rendición; pero Orange Cassidy se robó el show. Cassidy tiene un futuro enorme! El final también abre a seguir esta riña, pues los Lucha Bros se metieron para pelearse con los Best Friends, lo que distrajo a Orange Cassidy y le abrió la oportunidad a Pac.
Podría decir que la poderosa riña de MJF vs Cody llegó a su final y ambos pueden hacer un move on hacia nuevas historias. La historia entre ellos tuvo una tremenda lucha y un tremendo final para seguir alargándola por ahora. Solo un campeonato en medio podría regresar esta riña. MJF hasta sangró en la lucha, Cody le dio una pela, y perdió por que MJF usó el anillo para knockearlo y lograr el conteo de 3. La gente se metió en esta lucha desde el principio y los falsos finales fueron una bomba.
Una lucha que estuvo buena, pero sobre evaluada por el periodista de lucha libre Dave Meltzer, fue la del campeonato de Parejas (AEW) entre Hangman Page y Omega vs The Young Bucks. Meltzer dijo que la lucha fue 6 estrellas y la comparó con otras del pasado que así lo fueron como una entre Ric Flair vs Ricky Steamboat. Realmente está lucha estuvo lejos de ser una 6 o 5 estrellas. La misma comenzó lenta, luego a mediados la trataron de ver personal, y al final, mejoró de gran manera con buenos falsos finales y las diferentes combinaciones de ataques de ambos luchadores. Yo juzgo mucho la reacción de público, por que al final, se trata de entretener a los fans. En esta lucha no fue hasta casi después de 30 minutos que la gente de metió en ella cuando la gente se levantó de sus silla para aplaudir a Page, que de por cierto, fue el único que la gente aplaudió constantemente. Debe ser que los fans están pidiendo a voces un push de campeón máximo de la empresa para el sumamente calificado Hangman Page. Luego de eso se escucharon los clásicos This is awesome! AEW! Fight for Ever! Como dije, la lucha terminó bien, pero para The Young Bucks, no estuvo cerca de clásicos luchísticos como cuando enfrentaron a los Lucha Bros o a la dupla de Santana & Ortiz. Hay que destacar el Holy Shit Moment! Cuando los Bucks le hicieron su movida final en la rampa de afuera a Page y Page hizo la movida de Omega (One-Winged Angel) al igual que el Chicken Wing de Marty Scurll. Omega y Page retuvieron sus campeonatos de Parejas. Page logró el conteo de tres con su masivo lazo vaquero. #PushParaPagePlease.
La lucha estelar de la cartelera fue una buena. Dos Ex WWE, Chris Jericho vs Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose) se pelearon el campeonato máximo de la AEW. Ambos invictos en la AEW, ambos buscando ser la cara de la nueva empresa que buscar batallar fuertemente con la WWE. Al final, con un Paradigm Shift, Jon Moxley se corona el nuevo campeón de la AEW. Curioso que la empresa que trata de ser diferente a la WWE, siendo una nueva alternativa en el mundo de la lucha libre, sus dos primeros campeones sean luchadores que también fueron campeones en algún momento en la WWE. Entiendo la movida en términos de mercadeo, pero si quieren ser la alternativa y lograr más audiencia tienen que hacer cosas diferentes a la WWE, incluyendo el uso del personal que ya laboró e hizo un nombre en esa empresa. Moxley es el nuevo campeón máximo.
Otra excelente lucha del cartel fue la batalla entre Nyla Rose vs Kris Statlander por el campeonato Mundial Femenino de AEW. Rose ganó la lucha con un magistral Power-Bomb desde la segunda cuerda; pero Statlander se ganó el respeto de todos con la buena lucha que dío ante la campeona. Estas dos pueden dar un par de peleas más y no deberían terminar su historia, si no que, ampliar la misma. En lucha de dos talentosos jóvenes con una buena historia que los llevó a esta lucha, Darby Allin venció a Sammy Guevara con el Coffin Drop. Ambos lucieron movidas aéreas exquisitas. Jack Hager aparentemente terminó su riña con Dustin Rhodes al vencerlo por sumisión en la lucha que abrió la cartelera. Dustin aún le queda mucho y se gana a los fans simplemente. Hager encuentro que aún no se le a dado espacio para demostrar sus kilates y desputar en la AEW. Evil Uno y Grayson (Dark Order) derrotaron a Frankie Kazarian y Scorpio Sky (SCU) en la lucha Pre-Show de AEW Revolution. AEW en general tuvo un gran evento.

Johnny Impact & Taya Valkyrie Philadelphia Media Availability in Advance of IMPACT Wrestling Events at 2300 Arena
 

TORONTO | PHILADELPHIA – IMPACT Wrestling superstars and real-life husband and wife, Johnny Impact and Taya Valkyrie, will be in Philadelphia on Wednesday and Thursday, May 1-2, in advance of back-to-back nights of IMPACT Wrestling events on May 3-4 at the 2300 Arena.

Johnny and Taya will be available for in-person media interviews on May 1-2, and will have limited time those days for phone interviews with media that is not in Philadelphia.

Johnny Impact is the reigning IMPACT World Champion, as he puts the title on the line April 28 in the main event of the Rebellion pay-per-view in Toronto against “The Machine” Brian Cage.  Impact has held the title since defeating Austin Aries last October in New York City.

Born and raised in Southern California, Johnny Impact still calls Los Angeles home. He has been wrestling professionally since 2002 and has been a shining star in the U.S. and in Mexico, where he also has been competing for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. He is a crossover star too, appearing on various television shows, including Survivorin 2018. Plus, he has numerous film credits, including Boone: The Bounty Hunter, which he created, co-wrote and executive produced.

“Lucha Royalty” Taya Valkyrie is the reigning IMPACT Knockouts Champion, a title she has held since early-January after defeating Tessa Blanchard. She is set to defend the Knockouts Championship at the Rebellion pay-per-view against Jordynne Grace.

Taya Valkyrie, who has been wrestling since 2010 and was trained by legendary Canadian wrestler Lance Storm, has had an illustrious career in Mexico. Competing for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, she is a former two-time and the longest-reigning Reina de Reinas Champion in history.

Johnny Impact and Taya Valkyrie were married in June 2018.

IMPACT Wrestling Presents Rebellion from Toronto Live this Sunday, April 28 on Pay-Per-View, Streams Live Globally on FITE.tv 
 

TORONTO – IMPACT Wrestling returns to pay-per-view this Sunday, April 28 for Rebellion live from the Rebel Entertainment Complex in Toronto, Canada. IMPACT Knockouts Champion Taya Valkyrie will defend her gold against fast-rising powerhouse Jordynne Grace, who might be the one Knockout on the roster who can match power with the queen of the division.

The IMPACT X-Division Championship will also be on the line, as Rich Swann defends against oVe leader Sami Callihan. Their history runs deep and emotions will be at a peak when these two clash, as they were once as close as brothers.

IMPACT Wrestling Partners with Reality of Wrestling for Deep Impact on July 6 in Houston 

TORONTO | HOUSTON – IMPACT Wrestling teams up with Reality of Wrestling to present Deep Impact on Saturday, July 6, at the Booker T World Gym Arena near Houston, both promotions jointly announced.

Deep Impact will feature cross-promotional dream matches with the stars of IMPACT Wrestling battling the stars from Reality of Wrestling in the first-ever intra-promotional show.

Deep Impact will air live on IMPACT Wrestling’s Twitch channel.

Booker T is the owner of Reality of Wrestling, which has been training and developing top wrestlers from around the world since 2005. He had a legendary in-ring career himself, shining in WCW, WWE and IMPACT Wrestling – and he is a two-time member of the WWE Hall of Fame, including his 2019 induction with his brother Stevie Ray, as the WWE honored the 10-time tag team champions, Harlem Heat.  He was the inaugural Legends Champion and a World Tag Team Champion (with Scott Steiner) during his run with IMPACT Wrestling.

Gail Kim Toronto Media Tour Set for Friday, April 26 Before IMPACT Wrestling Rebellion Pay-Per-View 

TORONTO – One of the most decorated female wrestlers of all time, Gail Kim returns to her native Toronto to compete at the IMPACT Wrestling Rebellion pay-per-view on Sunday, April 28, at the Rebel Entertainment Complex in Toronto.

Kim faces third-generation wrestler Tessa Blanchard in one of the most anticipated matches at Rebellion. Kim also will be at the IMPACT Wrestling show on Monday, April 29 in Toronto, as the same venue plays host to television tapings for the company’s flagship weekly TV show, IMPACT!

Kim is available for in-person interviews on Friday, April 26, in Toronto.

In 2007, Kim became the first-ever IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion, and her seven title reigns is the most ever. Her combined 711 days as Knockouts Champion also is a record.

Kim was inducted into the IMPACT Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2016, and she remains the only female honoree.

Born and raised in Toronto, Kim was a multi-sport standout at York Memorial Collegiate Institute, where she played basketball, volleyball, softball, soccer and competed in track & field. She was named the school’s Athlete of the Year.

Kim then went on to the University of Toronto, where she studied physical and health education. She also attended Ryerson University to study nutrition.

Kim trained to be a professional wrestler in Toronto and is a lifelong Blue Jays fans – Pat Borders was her favorite player.

Kim is married to celebrity chef and talk show host Robert Irvine. The two, married in 2012, met on the set of Dinner: Impossible.

The Rebellion pay-per-view emanates from Toronto, featuring reigning World Champion Johnny Impact defending the title against Brian Cage. Other matches confirmed for Rebellion include Rich Swann defending the X-Division Championship against Sami Callihan and The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. and Fenix) defending the World Tag Team Championship against former champions LAX (Santana and Ortiz).

IMPACT Wrestling Announces New UK TV Deal with 5STAR
 

TORONTO | LONDON – IMPACT Wrestling, a subsidiary of Anthem Sports & Entertainment Corp., announced today a new broadcast deal with Viacom-owned Channel 5 to broadcast its flagship weekly show IMPACT! on 5STAR across the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland starting on April 26, 2019.

This is a renewal of the partnership of IMPACT Wrestling’s deal with Channel 5, which launched IMPACT! on 5Spike in spring 2017. 5STAR, which is also part of the Channel 5 stable, is available on Sky TV (128), Freeview (30), Freesat (131), Virgin Media (151) and other DTT platforms.

New episodes of IMPACT! will premiere on 5STAR from 26^th April at 11pm with weekly episodes airing in the same timeslot on Friday nights.
