LOS ANGELES (September 30, 2015) - Reigning WBC, Ring Magazine and Lineal Middleweight World Champion Miguel Cotto (40-4, 33 KOs) has arrived in Los Angeles to begin training camp at Wild Card Boxing Club with trainer Freddie Roach ahead of his Saturday, Nov. 21 showdown against former WBC and WBA Super Welterweight World Champion Canelo Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 KOs) which will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View from The Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

Middleweight World Champion Miguel Cotto and acclaimed artist of the urban Latin
genre, Yandel, officially announced a new partnership with TIDAL, the global
streaming entertainment company, to produce its first-ever streamed concert from the
island of Puerto Rico.
Upon signing with Roc Nation Sports, Miguel Cotto agreed to assist Roc Nation in the
promotion and production of concerts in Puerto Rico. This venture marks the first such
collaboration on a musical project in conjunction with TIDAL, the newly launched
music streaming service that combines the best high fidelity sound quality, high
definition music videos and expertly curated editorial. Yandel will be the first Hispanic
artist of any genre to live stream a concert on TIDAL.com.
Yandel, who releases his third solo album under the Sony label on November 6 titled
“Dangerous,” kicks off his concert tour in the United States and Latin America in late
September and will conclude the series of shows in Puerto Rico from the Convention
Center on December 12, 2015 which will be streamed live on TIDAL.com.
It was also announced today that the November 21 mega-fight between Cotto (40-4, 33
KOs) and Mexican superstar and former WBC and WBA Super Welterweight World
Champion Canelo Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 KOs) will feature a special live performance by
Yandel. The performance will be part of the fight’s telecast which will be produced
and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT.
On the announcement of the new venture Cotto said: “This is a great day for me and
Cotto Promotions and I am glad that we are able to debut our partnership with TIDAL

Emmanuel Rodríguez peleará por ESPN el 25 de noviembre en Hialeah, Florida
El campeón Fedelatín de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo y campeón Latino del Consejo Mundial de Boxeo ( CMB ) de las 118 libras, Emmanuel 'Manny el Sensacional' Rodríguez ( 13-0, 9KO ) de Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, peleará por primera vez en los Estados Unidos, el miércoles, 25 de noviembre desde el Hialeah Park Race Track en Florida. La pelea contará con transmisión en vivo por ESPN como parte de la serie, Premier Boxing Champions ( PBC ).
Se espera que el cubano y ex campeón mundial, Erislandy Lara este a cargo de la pelea estelar.
"Desde niño, uno sueña con pelear en las grandes cadenas y ESPN es una de ellas", dijo Emmanuel Rodriguez, "saber que me verán pelear por todo el mundo es algo muy emocionante, es algo que cada boxeador busca por el trabajo duro y sacrificado que uno hace a diario en el gimnasio".
El oponente de Rodríguez será anunciado en los próximos días.
"Hasta el momento no tengo oponente, pero se espera que sea uno de calidad porque ESPN exige combates buenos y estaremos listos para eso. Estoy trabajando fuerte para debutar con éxito en los Estados Unidos. Trataré de que todos los boricuas se sientan orgullosos de mi desempeño y espero poder compartir con los hermanos cubanos que estarán apoyando a Lara esa noche".
En sus 13 peleas en el boxeo profesional, Rodríguez ha derrotado a dos retadores al título mundial. El primero, David Quijano de Caguas, cayó por amplia decisión unánime y Luis Hinojosa de la República Dominicana fue noqueado fulminantemente en el tercer asalto. Ambas peleas fueron celebradas en el coliseo Cosme Beitia de Cataño, Puerto Rico.
En el boxeo aficionado, Rodríguez se convirtió en el primer puertorriqueño en ganar medalla de oro en unos Juegos Olímpicos Juveniles, durante su participación en Singapur en el año 2010.

JONATHAN OQUENDO FIRMA EL CONTRATO PARA SU PRIMERA OPORTUNIDAD MUNDIAL EL 5 DE DICIEMBRE EN BROOKLYN, NUEVA YORK
Tras su importante victoria sobre el ex doble campeón mundial, Jhonny González, hace 17 días, el puertorriqueño Jonathan Oquendo firmó el contrato que lo llevará a su primera pelea mundial el sábado, 5 de diciembre, cuando se mida al campeón peso pluma de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo (AMB), el argentino Jesús Cuéllar, en el Barclays Center de Brooklyn, Nueva York.
El encuentro entre Oquendo (26-4, 16 KOs) y Cuéllar (27-1, 21 KOs) formará parte del programa que estelarizarán el monarca peso mediano de la AMB, Daniel Jacobs (30-1, 27 KOs) y el ex campeón mundial mediano Peter Quillin (32-0-1, 23 KOs) midiéndose por el cetro de las 160 libras del primero. Tanto Jacobs como Quillin residen en Brooklyn.
A su vez, Oquendo confirmó que tiene un contrato vigente con la compañía PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP) hasta 2016 y que lo honrará, además de que continuará manejando personalmente todos los asuntos de su carrera junto a PRBBP.
"Luego de revisar mi contrato promocional como boxeador profesional con Iván Rivera, de PRBBP, me percaté que el mismo está vigente hasta 2016, por lo que no puedo firmar con otra compañía. Además, me percaté que mi contrato de manejo había expirado desde julio de 2013 y no me había dado cuenta. Firmé el contrato con GBP por representaciones incorrectas de las personas que estaban manejando mi carrera, con quienes ya me comuniqué vía telefónica y por correo electrónico y lo mismo hice con la gente de GBP, dando por terminada la relación", dijo Oquendo.
"Pero es otro capítulo ahora y vamos a pelear por el campeonato mundial y es tiempo de entrenar al máximo para ganar el título", agregó el peleador de 32 años y oriundo de Vega Alta.
Por otro lado, Peter Rivera, vicepresidente de PRBBP, se mostró complacido con la oportunidad que se le presenta a Oquendo, que peleará por primera vez en su carrera en la ciudad de Nueva York.
"Nos ofrecieron esta oportunidad para Jonathan después de su gran demostración frente a Jhonny González, conversamos con el equipo de Jonathan, y va a enfrentarse a Cuéllar por el título mundial. Jonathan descansó algo después de su pelea pero ya está trabajando para adquirir la mejor condición, como él acostumbra para sus peleas", expresó Rivera. "Jonathan tendrá también la oportunidad de pelear frente a miles de puertorriqueños, que sabemos estarán ese día en Brooklyn apoyándolo y esperando que se corone otro boricua como campeón mundial".
Oquendo viene de derrotar por decisión el pasado 12 de septiembre al ex campeón mundial de las 118 y 126 libras, Jhonny González, en una de las peleas coestelares del cartel que estelarizó Floyd Mayweather en su última pelea ante Andre Berto. El peleador cuenta con dos victorias en 2015 ante púgiles mexicanos. En marzo se impuso por decisión unánime sobre Gabino Cota y en septiembre por decisión mayoritaria sobre González.
Cuéllar, mientras, ganó el título Interino de la AMB en las 126 libras en agosto de 2013 cuando se impuso por decisión sobre el dominicano Claudio Marrero y lo ha defendido en cuatro ocasiones con victorias sobre Rico Ramos (decisión unánime), Juan Manuel "Juanma" López (nocaut en dos asaltos), Rubén Tamayo (nocaut técnico en cinco rounds) y Vic Darchinyan (nocaut en ocho capítulos).
