Hammerstone granted release, joins World Titan Federation at MLW FIGHTLAND

Watch now on demand on FITE+

Tonight's FIGHTLAND live and exclusively on FITE+ ended in a shocking controversy.

Alex Hammerstone, fresh off of being granted a release by MLW, joined the World Titan Federation and its self-described "Superstars" and savagely attacked Alex Kane, the Bomaye Fight Club and Jacob Fatu.

For months there's been speculation surrounding Alex Hammerstone's status in MLW.

With the relationship frayed, Hammerstone recently took to X requesting his release from MLW. Over the past few weeks, communication had been sparse between MLW and the former franchise of MLW.

MLW.com can confirm that Hammer was in fact granted his release from MLW this week... but no one expected him to sign instantly with Saint Laurent's World Titan Federation and return tonight to crash FIGHTLAND.

Watch the shocking conclusion to FIGHTLAND now on FITE+: https://www.fite.tv/watch/mlw-fightland-2023/2pe0t/.

Kojima’s first match back will be revealed shortly.

Satoshi Kojima, a living legend in the world of professional wrestling, carved his indelible mark on Major League Wrestling during a pivotal period, where his prowess, charisma, and connection with the fans converged to create an unforgettable chapter in the promotion’s history.

In the annals of MLW, Satoshi Kojima is immortalized as the first-ever World Heavyweight Champion. His arrival signaled a new era, and his victories in the early years played a pivotal role in establishing MLW as a force to be reckoned with in the wrestling world.

Kojima’s title fights became the stuff of legend, with each match cementing MLW’s reputation as a breeding ground and world showcase for top-tier fighters. Fans were swept up in “Kojimania,” a fervent following that transcended borders, testifying to the global appeal of this Japanese wrestling icon.

A true international defender as the World Heavyweight Champion, Kojima’s commitment to MLW extended beyond American soil. He defended the World Heavyweight title with pride in Japan, facing formidable opponents such as Johnny Smith, Ohtani, and John Tenta. Defending the title in All Japan Pro Wrestling, WMF and Zero-One solidified Kojima’s status as a true global wrestling ambassador and forever cemented the title’s status as a world title.

In February of 2005 Kojima held both the Triple Crown Heavyweight and the IWGP Heavyweight titles, a first in pro wrestling. In 2022 Kojima journeyed to Pro Wrestling NOAH where he captured the GHC Heavyweight Championship to complete a rare championship grand slam.

Now, 20 years after his meteoric rise in MLW, Satoshi Kojima makes a triumphant return to the league. The stage is set for him to once again etch his name in the history books as he pursues a historic feat – becoming the first-ever two-time MLW World Heavyweight Champion. The anticipation is palpable as Kojima, the Bread Club Warrior, steps back into the spotlight to ignite a new era in MLW. The legend continues, and the legacy of Kojimania is poised for a glorious resurgence.

World Title set for One-Shot Dec 7 in NYC… but with a twist

Featuring a FITE+ live premium event and bonus FUSION taping

Tickets Now Available at MLWNYC.com

NEW YORK — MLW in association with the World Titan Federation today announced a World Heavyweight Title Fight: World Heavyweight Champion Alex Kane vs. Matt Cardona at MLW: ONE-SHOT live and exclusively on FITE+ Thursday, December 7 at the Melrose Ballroom in New York City.

🎟 Grab tickets at http://www.MLWNYC.com and at Eventbrite.

As the promoter / booker of record for One-Shot, Saint Laurent dropped a bombshell on this past week’s FUSION revealing Matt Cardona will fight for the World Heavyweight Championship live and exclusively on FITE+!

Sign up for your FITE+ subscription now and enjoy a FREE 7-day trial!

The question now is: will it be Alex Kane or Jacob Fatu defending the belt walking into NYC December 7 as champion?

That question won’t be known until they throw down in Philly at FIGHTLAND November 18th.

Having traded favors (and files) with Salina de la Renta, Saint Laurent was granted power to produce and promote One-Shot, MLW’s December premium live event… and the huckster hype man will do so under the World Titan Federation banner.

With the “Crown Jewel” of the World Titan Federation having secured a title fight in his home state of New York, the question now is who will be the fighter with the belt that night?

Saint Laurent and  World Titan Federation Superstar® Matt Cardona claim they don’t care.

“Kane is just a ‘rassler. NOT a Titan! Not a sports entertainer! Cardona will be crowned champion in the New York territory! That belt and its rich lineage dating back to Satoshi Kojima will be rebranded as my World Titan Federation Universal linear championship title,” states Saint Laurent.

Kane, the captain of the Bomaye Fight Club has enjoyed a meteoric rise to the top in 2023, winning the Battle RIOT en route to becoming the World Heavyweight Champion. Since then, he has choked out a who’s who of challengers.

Recently, Kane has gone for Cardona’s neck on social media, calling him all sorts of names. Cardona and the World Titan Federation sent a message of their own on FUSION this past week: viciously attacking Mr. Thomas.

But what happens if Cardona has to switch gears and fight Fatu for the title on just 2 week notice on December 7? Is Cardona truly ready for such a change in strategy?

And what if Cardona loses the loser leaves MLW match to Mance Warner at FIGHTLAND? MSL retains the right to substitute with a mystery challenger for the title fight at ONE-HOT. Who could THAT be?!

One thing is certain: The next 30 days will be a wild ride to title town in New York City.

Lock in your tickets now at http://www.MLWNYC.com and see it go down Thursday, December 7 in New York City.

Tickets start at $15 at MLWNYC.com. Tickets will also be available day of show at the box office unless the event sales out in advance.

Salina de la Renta to executive produce MLW FUSION this Thursday

Stream on MLW’s YouTube Channel & FITE TV

It’s been just a month and a half since Salina de la Renta’s return and her conquest for power, money and gold has been nothing short of exceptional.

Now, the Empresaria has made another big move: Salina will serve as executive producer for this week’s episode of FUSION.

MLW FUSION broadcasts on cable TV in US on Saturdays on beIN SPORTS and streams on YouTube and FITE+ Thursdays at 8pm ET. FUSION is available in 60 countries worldwide (where to watch).

This past week on FUSION (watch), Salina de la Renta celebrated controlling 3 titles in 2 promotions, revealing that due to a business matter, Court Bauer he won’t be able to be to oversee FUSION this week, so Salina will serve as Executive Producer!

What will the notorious bruja of lucha libre have in store for Major League Wrestling and its roster of fighters?

Anything is possible! Especially now that Salina de la Renta’s Promociones Dorado has been revived, with luchadores, including MLW World Middleweight & CMLL World Historic Welterweight Champion Rocky Romer, MLW World Featherweight Champion Janai Kai, and Jesus Rodriguez.

For Salina, the world is hers… and we’re here to witness her conquest in all its wickedness.
