During his nearly two decades as an NFL owner, Bob McNair left a lasting mark on his city and our league. His leadership and determination brought the NFL back to Houston, built a magnificent stadium that hosted two Super Bowls, and his beloved Texans are in the midst of another successful season and are again contending for a place in the postseason. Off the field, Bob served with distinction as the chairman of the Finance Committee and was recognized in his native South Carolina, his adopted home of Houston, and elsewhere for his extraordinary philanthropic and community development work. He cared deeply about the league and was generous with his time and willingness to share his insights as an exceptional businessman. But above all, Bob was a family man. I extend my heartfelt condolences to Janice, their family, the Texans, and the entire Houston community.

Players for the game are determined by the consensus votes of fans, players and coaches. Each group’s vote counts one-third toward determining the 88 All-Star players who will be selected to the Pro Bowl. NFL players and coaches will cast their votes on Friday, December 14.
Pro Bowl rosters will be announced on Tuesday, December 18 live on NFL Network’s Pro Bowl special “NFL Total Access: Pro Bowl Players Revealed” at 8:00 PM ET. 2018 Thanksgiving Day Preview and Capsules |
For generations of Americans, the tradition of Thanksgiving Day and NFL football are historically intertwined.
On Thanksgiving in 1925, a crowd of 36,000 – then the largest in professional football history – watched the Chicago Bears play the Chicago Cardinals to a scoreless tie at Wrigley Field. In 1934, the Detroit Lions and the defending world champion Bears squared off on Thanksgiving in the first NFL game nationally broadcast, with NBC radio on the call. This year, the three holiday games will be played inside stadiums with a combined capacity of over 215,000 and will be aired to millions across the country and around the world.
The 2018 installment of Thanksgiving Day football will feature a tripleheader for the 13th consecutive season. For only the second time since 1970 (2014), the holiday will feature exclusively divisional matchups.
The first game showcases a battle of NFC North rivals as the Chicago Bears travel to Detroit to face the Lions (12:30 PM ET, CBS). The late afternoon game marks the 41st consecutive Thanksgiving Day contest hosted in Dallas as the Cowboys welcome the Washington Redskins to AT&T Stadium (4:30 PM ET, FOX). The holiday concludes at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome as the Atlanta Falcons take on the New Orleans Saints in the 99th regular-season meeting between the NFC South rivals (8:20 PM ET, NBC).

32 PLAYER NOMINEES FOR
2018 ART ROONEY SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD ANNOUNCED
-- WINNER TO BE REVEALED AT NFL HONORS BEFORE SUPER BOWL LIII --
The 32 player nominees for the fifth annual ART ROONEY SPORTSMANSHIP AWARDhave been finalized, the NFL announced today. Each NFL team nominated one of its players for the award, which recognizes players around the league who exemplify outstanding sportsmanship on the field.
The award was created in 2014 in honor of the late founding owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pro Football Hall of Famer ART ROONEY, SR.
A panel of former players from the NFL Legends Community will select eight finalists (four in the AFC and four in the NFC) from the 32 nominees. The eight finalists will be listed on the Pro Bowl ballot under the NFL Sportsmanship Award category when players vote on Friday, December 14.
The winner of the NFL Sportsmanship Award is determined by a vote of current NFL players. From the eight finalists, each team’s players will submit a consensus vote of their choice for the winner. As in Pro Bowl voting, a team cannot vote for its own player.
The award is presented each year to an NFL player who best demonstrates the qualities of on-field sportsmanship, including fair play, respect for the game and opponents, and integrity in competition.

PLAYOFF PICTURE HEATS UP AS NFL ENTERS WEEK 11
The NFL has entered the second half of the season and the excitement is building as playoff races tighten.
Seventeen teams are currently in or within one game of playoff position, including nine teams that did not advance to the postseason in 2017. Since the 12-team playoff format began in 1990, at least four teams have qualified for the playoffs in every season that were not in the postseason the year before. But a slow start does not mean a team can be counted out. Since 1990, 27 teams have qualified for the playoffs with a losing record through nine games.
Five teams are currently riding win steaks of at least four games, led by the New Orleans Saints, which have won eight consecutive games. The Houston Texans and Los Angeles Chargers have both won six straight games, while Pittsburgh and Kansas City have won five and four consecutive games, respectively. The Texans, which began the season 0-3, are the second team since 1970 to win six consecutive games immediately following an 0-3 start, joining the 1970 New York Giants.
Last week, 19 of the league’s 28 starting quarterbacks (67.9 percent) recorded a passer rating of 100 or higher (minimum 15 attempts), the most in a single week in NFL history, surpassing the previous high of 17 set in Week 2 of the 2018 season. Four quarterbacks - Pittsburgh's BEN ROETHLISBERGER(158.3), Cleveland's BAKER MAYFIELD (151.2), New Orleans' DREW BREES (150.4) and Chicago's MITCHELL TRUBISKY (148.6) - recorded a passer rating of at least 145 (minimum 20 attempts) in Week 10. The four quarterbacks with a 145+ passer rating (minimum 20 attempts) last week were the most in a single week in NFL history, surpassing the previous high of three which occurred four different times, most recently in Week 3 of the 2017 season.
One of the season’s most anticipated matchups takes place on ESPN’s Monday Night Football (8:15 PM ET), as the Kansas City Chiefs (9-1) take on the Los Angeles Rams (9-1) at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in a battle of two of the league’s top contenders. This is the fifth meeting between teams with one or fewer losses in Week 11 or later since 1970 and the first since November 17, 2013 (Denver (8-1) vs. Kansas City (9-0)).
Chiefs quarterback PATRICK MAHOMES (3,150 passing yards, 117.4 passer rating) and Rams quarterback JARED GOFF (3,134 passing yards, 113.0 passer rating) rank first and second, respectively, in the NFL in passing yards and are two of only eight quarterbacks in league history with at least 3,000 passing yards and a 110+ passer rating in their team’s first 10 games of a season. Each of the previous six quarterbacks to accomplish the feat captured Associated Press Most Valuable Player honors in their respective seasons.
Below are highlights of the Week 11 schedule:
Week 11 kicks off on Thursday night as the Green Bay Packers travel to Seattle to battle the Seahawks at CenturyLink Field (8:20 PM ET, FOX/NFL Network/Amazon Prime). Packers running back AARON JONES rushed for 145 yards on 15 carries (9.7 average), including two rushing touchdowns, in Green Bay’s 31-12 victory over Miami in Week 10. Jones is the second running back in franchise history to rush for at least 140 yards and two touchdowns on 15 or fewer carries, joining AHMAN GREEN (October 24, 2004 vs. Dallas). Seahawks quarterback RUSSELL WILSON has thrown at least three touchdown passes and recorded a passer rating of 120 or higher in four of his past five games.
The Houston Texans and Washington Redskins square off in a battle of first-place teams at FedExField (1:00 PM ET, CBS). Texans wide receiver DE ANDRE HOPKINS had 10 catches for 105 yards and a touchdown in Houston’s Week 9 win at Denver. Since 2017, Hopkins has four games with at least 10 catches, 100 receiving yards and a touchdown reception, the most in the NFL over the span. Houston defensive end J.J. WATT ties for third in the league with nine sacks this season and is one of three players with at least eight sacks and 10 tackles for loss (11), joining the Rams’ AARON DONALD (12.5 sacks, 16 tackles for loss) and the Vikings’ DANIELLE HUNTER (11.5 sacks, 13 tackles for loss). Washington, led by defensive end MATT IOANNIDIS (7.5 sacks) and safety D.J. SWEARINGER (four interceptions), is tied for second in the NFC allowing 19.4 points per game.
The Indianapolis Colts welcome the Tennessee Titans to Lucas Oil Stadium in a key AFC South contest (1:00 PM ET, CBS). Titans quarterback MARCUS MARIOTA passed for 228 yards with two touchdowns, rushed for 21 yards and had a 21-yard reception in Tennessee’s Week 10 win over New England. Mariota became the third quarterback in league history with at least 200 passing yards, 20 rushing yards and 20 receiving yards in a single game, joining Carolina’s CAM NEWTON (December 4, 2011) and Chicago’s JIM MC MAHON (October 21, 1984). Indianapolis quarterback ANDREW LUCK threw three touchdown passes in the Colts’ 29-26 victory against Jacksonville last week and is one of three quarterbacks in NFL history to record at least six consecutive games with three or more touchdown passes in a single season, joining TOM BRADY (10 consecutive games in 2007) and PEYTON MANNING (eight in 2004). Brady and Manning were each named Associated Press Most Valuable Player in those respective seasons.
On Sunday afternoon, the Philadelphia Eagles travel to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to take on the New Orleans Saints (4:25 PM ET, FOX) in a showdown of 2017 NFC playoff teams. Philadelphia quarterback CARSON WENTZ is one of two players in the NFL (Atlanta’s MATT RYAN) to average at least 300 passing yards per game (306.9) while completing at least 70 percent of his passes (71.0) this season. Saints quarterback DREW BREES leads the league with a 77.3 completion percentage which is on pace to surpass the NFL record of 72.0 percent, which was set by Brees last season, by 5.3 percentage points.
Sunday’s nightcap is a battle for first place in the NFC North between the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears at Soldier Field (8:20 PM ET, NBC). Minnesota wide receiver ADAM THIELEN has 78 catches this season, tied with New Orleans’ MICHAEL THOMAS (78) for the most in the NFL. Thielen and Thomas, along with Philadelphia’s ZACH ERTZ (75), join JULIO JONES (80 catches in 2015), and Pro Football Hall of Famer MARVIN HARRISON (75 in 2002) as the only players in NFL history with at least 75 catches in their team’s first nine games of a season. Chicago quarterback MITCHELL TRUBISKY recorded a 148.6 passer rating in the Bears’ Week 10 win over Detroit and is one of two NFL quarterbacks (CAM NEWTON) this season with a 100+ passer rating (101.6), at least 300 rushing yards (320) and three rushing touchdowns (three).

Chiefs-Rams Game To Move From Mexico City to Los Angeles Due to Field Conditions |
CHIEFS-RAMS GAME TO MOVE FROM MEXICO CITY TO LOS ANGELES DUE TO FIELD CONDITIONS
The NFL announced today that it will move the Monday, November 19, Kansas City Chiefs-Los Angeles Rams game originally scheduled for Estadio Azteca in Mexico City to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles.
The decision is based on the determination – in consultation with the NFLPA and following a meeting and field inspection this afternoon by NFL and club field experts as well as local and independent outside experts – that the playing field at Estadio Azteca does not meet NFL standards for playability and consistency and will not meet those standards by next Monday.
"We have worked extensively with our partners at Estadio Azteca for months in preparation for this game," said NFL Executive Vice President of International Mark Waller. "Until very recently, we had no major concerns. But, the combination of a difficult rainy season and a heavy multi-event calendar of events at the stadium, have resulted in significant damage to the field that presents unnecessary risks to player safety and makes it unsuitable to host an NFL game. As a result, we have determined that moving the game is the right decision, and one that we needed to announce now in order to allow our teams and fans to make alternate arrangements."
Details on ticket reimbursement procedures will be announced in the days ahead.

"I know without a hint of doubt that I would not be here if it were not for him." – Brett Favre

The one-hour show produced by NFL Films features sitdown interviews with Holmgren, as well as the four quarterbacks who played as instrumental a part in his career as he played in theirs: Joe Montana, Steve Young, Brett Favre and Matt Hasselbeck.
Each episode of A Football Life – as well as all NFL Network programming – can be streamed live through the NFL app and via Watch NFL Network on smartphones, tablets, PCs and connected TV devices (Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, PlayStation 4 and Roku). Access is available for NFL Network subscribers of participating TV providers. For more information, go to NFL.com/watch.
Among the topics discussed in Mike Holmgren: A Football Life are:
- Playing quarterback in high school but not being able to start a game while at USC
- Joining the San Francisco 49ers in 1986 as quarterbacks coach
- The role he played in Joe Montana remaining as the 49ers' starting quarterback during the 1988 Super Bowl-winning season
- The relationship he formed with Steve Young at BYU and with the 49ers
- Becoming the head coach of the Green Bay Packers in 1992 and his relationship with Brett Favre
- Leading the Seattle Seahawks to a Super Bowl appearance and working with quarterback Matt Hasselbeck
Emmy-nominated actor Josh Charles narrates.
Mike Holmgren: A Football Life includes interviews with the following people and more:
Mike Holmgren
Kathy Holmgren – Wife
Joe Montana – Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback
Steve Young – Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback
Brett Favre – Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback
Matt Hasselbeck – Former NFL quarterback, 1998-2015
Provided below are some select quotes from Mike Holmgren: A Football Life:
- "The guys I had the good fortune of being around were special. It was the position I played – I know I didn't get to play as long as I would like to play – and it gave me a chance to stay at that position and watch them do those things that I wanted to do at one time and never did. I was very fortunate." – Mike Holmgren
- "For me personally, Mike Holmgren made all of the difference. Who he was as a coach, as a teacher." – Matt Hasselbeck
- "I know without a hint of doubt that I would not be here if it were not for him." – Brett Favre
- "Joe Montana gave me the freedom early on by what he said to me: 'Coach me hard.' And if Joe Montana can tell me that, you have to do that with everybody." – Mike Holmgren
- "There are certain things he demanded you to study. He was a perfectionist at the position. That's what made a difference in him is he wanted it to be perfect and he wanted you to be perfect." – Joe Montana
- "Mike for me was perfect. It was a great relationship, somebody to push me and I think that's probably why it worked so well." – Steve Young
- "I was so naïve…I thought we would be together forever. I felt like I was really good but I also felt like I was really good for a reason, and that was because of coaching." – Brett Favre
- "When you're a coach, you're a teacher. The good coaches are teachers. It didn't matter what I knew or the assistant coach. I would tell [the assistant coaches] it doesn't matter if you're the smartest guy in the room, you have to teach him to do it. I never left teaching. That's what you do as a coach." – Mike Holmgren
This year, the 11-episode season of the highly-acclaimed series A Football Life airs Friday at 8:00 PM ET. The next episode of A Football Life features former NFL wide receiver and current NBC Sports analyst Cris Collinsworth on Friday, November 23.

THURSDAY NIGHT PREVIEW:
GREEN BAY PACKERS AT SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
November 15, 2018
Week 11 kicks off on Thursday, November 15 (8:20 PM ET, FOX/NFL Network/Amazon Prime) with the Green Bay Packers travelling to Seattle to take on the Seahawks at CenturyLink Field. Thursday marks the 22nd meeting between the teams (including the playoffs), with Green Bay leading the all-time series, 13-8. In their last game, Packers quarterback AARON RODGERS passed for 311 yards and a touchdown in Green Bay’s 17-9 home win on September 10, 2017.
In Week 10, Packers running back AARON JONES recorded a career-high 172 scrimmage yards (145 rushing, 27 receiving) and two rushing touchdowns in the team’s 31-12 victory against Miami. Rodgers connected with wide receiver DAVANTE ADAMS, who leads the NFC with nine touchdown catches this season, for two scores in the contest and linebacker BLAKE MARTINEZ, whose 221 tackles since 2017 are the most by any player in the NFL, led the team with nine tackles.
Last week, Seattle quarterback RUSSELL WILSON threw three touchdown passes and no interceptions for a 123.2 passer rating and added 92 rushing yards while rookie running back RASHAAD PENNY, the Seahawks’ 2018 first-round pick, rushed for a career-high 108 yards and his first-career touchdown in the Seahawks’ loss at the Los Angeles Rams. The Seahawks are the only team in the NFL to have three different players rush for at least 100 yards in a game this season: Penny, running back CHRIS CARSON and running back MIKE DAVIS. Seattle linebacker BOBBY WAGNER, who led the team with 13 tackles in Week 10, has 365 tackles since 2016, the most in the league over that span.
SEVEN FROM SUNDAY – WEEK 10
A look at seven statistical highlights from games played at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, November 11, the 10th week of the 2018 season.
- Four quarterbacks – Pittsburgh’s BEN ROETHLISBERGER (158.3), Cleveland’s BAKER MAYFIELD (151.2), New Orleans’ DREW BREES (150.4) and Chicago’s MITCHELL TRUBISKY (148.6) – have recorded a passer rating of at least 145 (minimum 20 attempts) through Sunday afternoon.
The four quarterbacks with a 145+ passer rating (minimum 20 attempts) in Week 10 are the most in a single week in NFL history, surpassing the previous high of three which occurred four different times, most recently in Week 3 of the 2017 season.
- The NEW ORLEANS SAINTS defeated Cincinnati, 51-14, at Paul Brown Stadium, marking the team’s eighth consecutive win. The Saints have scored at least 40 points in five games this season and joined the 2013 Denver Broncos and 2000 St. Louis Rams as the only teams in NFL history to score 40 or more points in five of its first nine games of a season.
Saints quarterback DREW BREES completed 22 of 25 (88 percent) for 265 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions for a 150.4 passer rating and added a rushing touchdown in the win. Brees, who has 509 career touchdown passes, surpassed Pro Football Hall of Famer BRETT FAVRE (508) for the second-most passing touchdowns in league annals. Only PEYTON MANNING (539) has more career touchdown passes. New Orleans running back ALVIN KAMARA had 102 scrimmage yards (56 rushing, 46 receiving) and two rushing touchdowns in the Saints’ win. Kamara, who played in his 25th career game on Sunday, recorded his ninth game with at least two touchdowns since entering the league in 2017. Only Pro Football Hall of Famers CURTIS MARTIN (10) and STEVE VAN BUREN (10) and EDGERRIN JAMES (10) have more multi-touchdown games in their first 25 career games in league history. Saints wide receiver MICHAEL THOMAS had eight catches for 70 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday. Thomas has 274 catches in 40 career games and surpassed ODELL BECKHAM, JR. (266) for the most receptions by a player in his first 40 career games in NFL history. Thomas (78) is tied with Minnesota’s ADAM THIELEN (78) for the league lead in catches this season. Thomas and Thielen joined JULIO JONES (80 catches in 2015) and Pro Football Hall of Famer MARVIN HARRISON (75 in 2002) as the only players in NFL history with at least 75 catches in their team’s first nine games of a season.
- Kansas City quarterback PATRICK MAHOMES completed 21 of 28 passes (75 percent) for 249 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions for a 125.4 passer rating in the Chiefs’ 26-14 victory over Arizona.
Mahomes, who leads the NFL with 31 touchdown passes this season, surpassed Pro Football Hall of Famer LEN DAWSON (30 touchdown passes in 1964) for the most touchdown passes in a single season in franchise history.
- Indianapolis quarterback ANDREW LUCK completed 21 of 29 passes (72.4 percent) for 285 yards with three touchdowns and one interception for a 123.5 passer rating in the Colts’ 29-26 victory against Jacksonville.
Luck has thrown at least three touchdown passes in each of his past six games and is one of three quarterbacks in NFL history to record at least six consecutive games with three or more touchdown passes in a single season, joining TOM BRADY (10 consecutive games in 2007) and PEYTON MANNING (eight in 2004). Brady and Manning were each named Associated Press Most Valuable Player in those respective seasons. Colts tight end ERIC EBRON had three catches for 69 yards and two touchdowns and added a rushing touchdown in the victory. Ebron joined New England’s ROB GRONKOWSKI (two receiving, one rushing on December 4, 2011 vs. Indianapolis) as the only tight ends in NFL history to record at least two touchdown catches and one rushing touchdown in a single game.
- Cleveland rookie quarterback BAKER MAYFIELD threw three touchdown passes and rookie running back NICK CHUBB had 209 scrimmage yards (176 rushing, 33 receiving) with two touchdowns (one rushing, one receiving) in the Browns’ 28-16 win over Atlanta.
Mayfield completed 17 of 20 passes (85 percent), including his first 13 pass attempts of the game, for 216 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions for a 151.2 passer rating in the win. Mayfield is the first rookie quarterback in NFL history to record a passer rating of at least 150 on 20 or more pass attempts in a single game. Chubb scored on a 92-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, the longest rushing touchdown in franchise history and the second-longest touchdown run by a rookie in NFL history. Only the Steelers’ BOBBY GAGE (97 yards in 1949) has a longer touchdown run as a rookie.
- Buffalo running back LE SEAN MC COY rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns in the Bills’ 41-10 victory at the New York Jets.

Bills quarterback MATT BARKLEY passed for 232 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions for a 117.4 passer rating in his Buffalo debut. Barkley’s 117.4 passer rating is the second-highest by a Bills quarterback making his team debut behind only Pro Football Hall of Famer JIM KELLY’s 119.8 rating on September 7, 1986 (minimum 20 attempts).
- Other notable performances from Sunday include:
- Arizona wide receiver LARRY FITZGERALD had six catches for 50 yards in the Cardinals’ Week 10 loss at Kansas City.
Fitzgerald has 15,952 career receiving yards and surpassed Pro Football Hall of Famer TERRELL OWENS (15,934) for the second-most receiving yards in NFL history. Only Pro Football Hall of Famer JERRY RICE (22,895) has more career receiving yards.
- New England quarterback TOM BRADY passed for 254 yards in the Patriots’ loss at Tennessee.
Brady appeared in his 300th career game (including the postseason), joining Pro Football Hall of Famer BRETT FAVRE (326) as the only quarterbacks in league annals to appear in 300 career games.
- Los Angeles Rams running back TODD GURLEY had 160 scrimmage yards (120 rushing, 40 receiving) and a rushing touchdown in the Rams’ 36-31 win against Seattle.
Gurley has scored at least one touchdown in each of the Rams’ first 10 games this season and joins Pro Football Hall of Famers O.J. SIMPSON (14 games in 1975), LENNY MOORE (14 in 1964) and ELROY “CRAZY LEGS” HIRSCH (10 in 1951) as the only players in league annals to score a touchdown in each of their team’s first 10 games of a season.

RACE TO PLAYOFFS INTENSIFIES IN NFL’S SECOND HALF
The second half of the NFL season is here and the race to the playoffs is in full swing.
Three teams – the KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (8-1), LOS ANGELES RAMS (8-1) and NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (7-2) – have a record of 7-2 or better entering Week 10 and the NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (7-1), which had its bye in Week 6, will reach either 8-1 or 7-2 following this week’s action. In the Super Bowl era, 216 teams have begun the season either 8-1 or 7-2 through nine games and 194 of those teams advanced to the postseason (89.8 percent). Sixty-one of the 216 teams reached the Super Bowl in their respective seasons.
As the season moves into the second half, there is plenty of football left to play and nothing has been decided. Since 2000, 45 teams have reached the halfway point of their season with a .500 or below winning percentage and advanced to the playoffs, including at least one in each season. Last year, the ATLANTA FALCONS began the season at 4-4 before advancing to the postseason with a 10-6 record.
Four teams are currently riding winning streaks of at least five games – New Orleans (seven consecutive games), Houston (six), New England (six) and the Los Angeles Chargers (five). The Texans, which began the season 0-3, are the second team since 1970 to win six consecutive games immediately following an 0-3 start, joining the 1970 New York Giants.
As the schedule turns to Week 10, history is on the horizon for veteran and young quarterbacks alike. New England quarterback TOM BRADY will play in his 300th career game (including the postseason) on Sunday at Tennessee (1:00 PM ET, CBS), joining Pro Football Hall of Famer BRETT FAVRE (326) as the only quarterbacks to appear in 300 career games across the regular season and playoffs. Brady, who has thrown 576 touchdown passes through 299 career games (including the postseason), can surpass PEYTON MANNING (579) for the most touchdown passes by a quarterback in NFL history.
Brady (505 regular-season touchdown passes) and New Orleans quarterback DREW BREES (506), who plays at Cincinnati on Sunday (1:00 PM ET, FOX), enter Week 10 within reach of Favre (508) for second place on the NFL’s all-time passing touchdown leaderboard. Only Manning (539) has more career touchdown passes in the regular season.
Kansas City quarterback PATRICK MAHOMES has 29 touchdown passes and 3,185 passing yards in 10 career games, both the most by a quarterback in his first 10 games in NFL history. Mahomes, who has passed for at least 300 yards and three touchdowns in each of the Chiefs’ past four games, can join Pro Football Hall of Famer STEVE YOUNG (1998) as the only players in NFL history with at least 300 passing yards and three touchdown passes in five consecutive games.
Below are highlights of the Week 10 schedule:
Week 10 kicks off on Thursday night as the CAROLINA PANTHERS visit the PITTSBURGH STEELERS at Heinz Field (8:20 PM ET, FOX/NFL Network/Amazon Prime). Pittsburgh enters Thursday’s contest as the winner of four consecutive games, while Carolina has won three straight games. Steelers running back JAMES CONNER has rushed for at least 100 yards in each of his past four games and can join Pro Football Hall of Famers FRANCO HARRIS (six consecutive games in 1972) and JEROME BETTIS (five in 1996) as the only players in franchise history with 100+ rushing yards in five consecutive games. Panthers quarterback CAM NEWTON has thrown at least two touchdown passes in seven consecutive games, tied with STEVE BEUERLEIN for the longest streak in franchise history, and aims for his fourth game in a row with two touchdown passes, no interceptions and a 100+ passer rating.
The NEW ORLEANS SAINTS, winners of seven consecutive games, travel to Paul Brown Stadium to take on the CINCINNATI BENGALS on Sunday afternoon (1:00 PM ET, FOX). Saints running back ALVIN KAMARA, who has 1,218 rushing yards and 1,253 receiving yards in 24 career games, can join HERSCHEL WALKER (1,339 rushing, 1,394 receiving) as the only players in NFL history with at least 1,300 rushing and receiving yards in his first 25 career games. Bengals rookie safety JESSIE BATES leads Cincinnati with 60 tackles and is one of two players in the NFL (KIKO ALONSO) with at least 60 tackles and three interceptions (three) in 2018.
RUSSELL WILSON and the Seahawks visit TODD GURLEY and the Rams at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (4:25 PM ET, CBS). Since Week 5, Wilson ranks second in the NFL with a 126.4 passer rating and third in the league with 11 touchdown passes. Gurley leads the NFL with 16 touchdowns (12 rushing, four receiving) and has scored a touchdown in each of the Rams’ nine games in 2018. With a touchdown on Sunday, Gurley can become the fourth player in league annals to score at least one touchdown in each of his team’s first 10 games of a season.

- Winning Super Bowl XL and stepping away from coaching after the 2006 NFL season
- The passing of his wife Kaye Cowher
- His current broadcasting career as an analyst for CBS Sports
Emmy-nominated actor Josh Charles narrates.
Bill Cowher: A Football Life includes interviews with the following people and more:
Bill Cowher
Meagan Cowher Westgarth – Daughter
Lauren Cowher – Daughter
Lindsay Cowher Kelly – Daughter
Rod Woodson – Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback
Jerome Bettis – Pro Football Hall of Fame running back
Ben Roethlisberger – Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback
Joey Porter – Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker
Bill Belichick – New England Patriots head coach
Tony Dungy – Pro Football Hall of Fame head coach
Provided below are some select quotes from Bill Cowher: A Football Life:
- "I love football, but my football life has been as much about family as it's been about football." – Bill Cowher
- "Some coaches do certain things for the camera – none of that he did for the camera. Everything he did was authentic as it gets." – Joey Porter
- "That chin, that scowl, that spit coming out of his mouth, his accent – all of those things are Pittsburgh through and through." – Ben Roethlisberger
- "Would I ever go back? I doubt it. But I always said, and I will still continue to say, why shut a door that you never have to shut? I don't know how I'll feel two or three years from now. I've seen other people get too much of an itch, they want to come back." – Bill Cowher on his coaching future
- "He was like a psychologist in terms of understanding who he needed to push, who he needed to put his arm around, who he needed to get in their face. He was honest. He told you where you stood. That's all you ever wanted from a coach." – Jerome Bettis
- "There was validation…To bring that back to the city of Pittsburgh that many years later, a place where I grew up, it was pretty surreal." – Bill Cowher on winning Super Bowl XL
- "I think Bill got the best of both worlds. He got his fire and energy, and Marty [Schottenheimer's] preparation. When the two came together, you saw the results. You just could sense that here's a guy that people will follow, and you knew it was just a matter of time before some organization was going to take advantage of that." – Tony Dungy
- "For a nine-year old to say, 'Win or lose, Dad you'll still be my hero,' I'm like wow. It really to me encapsulates what our family is about. The very deepest, worst loss you can experience but all of a sudden there is your family. That was my strength. It was family that gets you through those tough times." – Bill Cowher
This year, the 11-episode season of the highly-acclaimed series A Football Life airs Friday at 8:00 PM ET. Below is a broadcast schedule for upcoming episodes of A Football Life:
- November 16 – Mike Holmgren
