Johnny Impact & Taya Valkyrie Philadelphia Media Availability in Advance of IMPACT Wrestling Events at 2300 Arena
 
TORONTO | PHILADELPHIA – IMPACT Wrestling superstars and real-life husband and wife, Johnny Impact and Taya Valkyrie, will be in Philadelphia on Wednesday and Thursday, May 1-2, in advance of back-to-back nights of IMPACT Wrestling events on May 3-4 at the 2300 Arena.

Johnny and Taya will be available for in-person media interviews on May 1-2, and will have limited time those days for phone interviews with media that is not in Philadelphia.

Johnny Impact is the reigning IMPACT World Champion, as he puts the title on the line April 28 in the main event of the Rebellion pay-per-view in Toronto against “The Machine” Brian Cage.  Impact has held the title since defeating Austin Aries last October in New York City.

Born and raised in Southern California, Johnny Impact still calls Los Angeles home. He has been wrestling professionally since 2002 and has been a shining star in the U.S. and in Mexico, where he also has been competing for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. He is a crossover star too, appearing on various television shows, including Survivorin 2018. Plus, he has numerous film credits, including Boone: The Bounty Hunter, which he created, co-wrote and executive produced.

“Lucha Royalty” Taya Valkyrie is the reigning IMPACT Knockouts Champion, a title she has held since early-January after defeating Tessa Blanchard. She is set to defend the Knockouts Championship at the Rebellion pay-per-view against Jordynne Grace.

aya Valkyrie, who has been wrestling since 2010 and was trained by legendary Canadian wrestler Lance Storm, has had an illustrious career in Mexico. Competing for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, she is a former two-time and the longest-reigning Reina de Reinas Champion in history.

Johnny Impact and Taya Valkyrie were married in June 2018.

IMPACT Wrestling Presents Rebellion from Toronto Live this Sunday, April 28 on Pay-Per-View, Streams Live Globally on FITE.tv 
 
TORONTO – IMPACT Wrestling returns to pay-per-view this Sunday, April 28 for Rebellion live from the Rebel Entertainment Complex in Toronto, Canada. The three-hour extravaganza kicks off at 8:00 p.m. ET and will be distributed on cable, satellite and digital pay-per-view, including DISH, DirecTV, iN Demand, Vubiquity, Rogers, Bell, Shaw and Sasktel across North America, and streaming live globally exclusively on the FITE.tv app, which is now available on Sony PlayStation systems.

This time, however, Canadian wrestling legend Lance Storm will serve as the special guest referee, who will keep a close eye on Impact’s underhanded shenanigans.

In a dream match that fans have been anticipating for months, IMPACT Hall of Famer and Toronto native Gail Kim comes out of retirement to battle third-generation superstar Tessa Blanchard.

The IMPACT World Tag Team Titles are on the line, as Champions the Lucha Brothers, Pentagon Jr. and Fenix, defend against former titleholders LAX, Santana and Ortiz, in a Full Metal Mayhem match, in what will be the final chapter of their heated rivalry.

IMPACT Knockouts Champion Taya Valkyrie will defend her gold against fast-rising powerhouse Jordynne Grace, who might be the one Knockout on the roster who can match power with the queen of the division.

The IMPACT X-Division Championship will also be on the line, as Rich Swann defends against oVe leader Sami Callihan. Their history runs deep and emotions will be at a peak when these two clash, as they were once as close as brothers.

IMPACT Wrestling Partners with Reality of Wrestling for Deep Impact on July 6 in Houston 

TORONTO | HOUSTON – IMPACT Wrestling teams up with Reality of Wrestling to present Deep Impact on Saturday, July 6, at the Booker T World Gym Arena near Houston, both promotions jointly announced.

Deep Impact will feature cross-promotional dream matches with the stars of IMPACT Wrestling battling the stars from Reality of Wrestling in the first-ever intra-promotional show.

Deep Impact will air live on IMPACT Wrestling’s Twitch channel.

Booker T is the owner of Reality of Wrestling, which has been training and developing top wrestlers from around the world since 2005. He had a legendary in-ring career himself, shining in WCW, WWE and IMPACT Wrestling – and he is a two-time member of the WWE Hall of Fame, including his 2019 induction with his brother Stevie Ray, as the WWE honored the 10-time tag team champions, Harlem Heat.  He was the inaugural Legends Champion and a World Tag Team Champion (with Scott Steiner) during his run with IMPACT Wrestling.

Gail Kim Toronto Media Tour Set for Friday, April 26 Before IMPACT Wrestling Rebellion Pay-Per-View 

TORONTO – One of the most decorated female wrestlers of all time, Gail Kim returns to her native Toronto to compete at the IMPACT Wrestling Rebellion pay-per-view on Sunday, April 28, at the Rebel Entertainment Complex in Toronto.

Kim faces third-generation wrestler Tessa Blanchard in one of the most anticipated matches at Rebellion. Kim also will be at the IMPACT Wrestling show on Monday, April 29 in Toronto, as the same venue plays host to television tapings for the company’s flagship weekly TV show, IMPACT!

Kim is available for in-person interviews on Friday, April 26, in Toronto.

In 2007, Kim became the first-ever IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion, and her seven title reigns is the most ever. Her combined 711 days as Knockouts Champion also is a record.

Kim was inducted into the IMPACT Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2016, and she remains the only female honoree.

Born and raised in Toronto, Kim was a multi-sport standout at York Memorial Collegiate Institute, where she played basketball, volleyball, softball, soccer and competed in track & field. She was named the school’s Athlete of the Year.

Kim then went on to the University of Toronto, where she studied physical and health education. She also attended Ryerson University to study nutrition.

Kim trained to be a professional wrestler in Toronto and is a lifelong Blue Jays fans – Pat Borders was her favorite player.

Kim is married to celebrity chef and talk show host Robert Irvine. The two, married in 2012, met on the set of Dinner: Impossible.

The Rebellion pay-per-view emanates from Toronto, featuring reigning World Champion Johnny Impact defending the title against Brian Cage. Other matches confirmed for Rebellion include Rich Swann defending the X-Division Championship against Sami Callihan and The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. and Fenix) defending the World Tag Team Championship against former champions LAX (Santana and Ortiz).

IMPACT Wrestling Announces New UK TV Deal with 5STAR
 
TORONTO | LONDON – IMPACT Wrestling, a subsidiary of Anthem Sports & Entertainment Corp., announced today a new broadcast deal with Viacom-owned Channel 5 to broadcast its flagship weekly show IMPACT! on 5STAR across the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland starting on April 26, 2019.

This is a renewal of the partnership of IMPACT Wrestling’s deal with Channel 5, which launched IMPACT! on 5Spike in spring 2017. 5STAR, which is also part of the Channel 5 stable, is available on Sky TV (128), Freeview (30), Freesat (131), Virgin Media (151) and other DTT platforms.

New episodes of IMPACT! will premiere on 5STAR from 26th April at 11pm with weekly episodes airing in the same timeslot on Friday nights.

IMPACT Wrestling Re-establishes Developmental Agreement with Ohio Valley Wrestling
 
TORONTO | LOUISVILLE – IMPACT Wrestling announced today that it has re-entered into an agreement with Louisville-based Ohio Valley Wrestling to serve as an official development and training territory for IMPACT Wrestling.

The announcement of the renewed partnership follows the success of the co-promoted One Night Only: Clash in the Bluegrass event, a sold-out show from Davis Arena in Louisville, Kentucky, which featured stars from both organizations.

“We are excited to grow our outreach and partnership with promotions worldwide,” said IMPACT Wrestling Executive VP Scott D’Amore. “It is great to work with Al Snow and the team at OVW, which has a long history of developing great talent.”

“OVW is proud to be entrusted with the development of the true lifeblood of any professional wrestling promotion – the in-ring talent,” said OVW CEO and owner Al Snow.

As part of the agreement, IMPACT Wrestling management will look to OVW when scouting new talent and those on the development roster will see future opportunities to appear on the flagship weekly show IMPACT!, which is televised in more than 120 countries around the world.

Al Snow acquired OVW in June 2018 and formed Gladiator Sports Network, which also produces professional boxing events and a high school sports prep series while keeping wrestling as its signature brand. OVW served as the official development training ground for World Wrestling Entertainment from 2000 to 2008 and as IMPACT Wrestling’s training territory from 2012 to 2014. With more than 1,000 television episodes, OVW is the longest running professional wrestling series broadcast on local television in the U.S. The series is the signature of the company’s elite training program, which boasts more than 150 alumni who went on to international fame, including John Cena, Brock Lesnar and reigning IMPACT World Champion Johnny Impact.

IMPACT Wrestling Announces Feb. 15 Press Conference with NFL Alumni, Las Vegas Chapter
 
Pro Football Hall of Famer Floyd Little among former players to appear at IMPACT Wrestling show

IMPACT Wrestling and the NFL Alumni, Las Vegas Chapter (“NFLALV”) will host a press conference on Friday, February 15 starting at 5:30 p.m. PT at Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas, Nevada to formally launch their alliance to support the NFLALV’s ‘Caring for Kids’ and ‘Care for our Own’ initiatives in Las Vegas and to support IMPACT Wrestling’s events in the city. 

A subsidiary of Anthem Sports & Entertainment Corp., IMPACT Wrestling is presenting television tapings for its flagship weekly show, IMPACT!, for three consecutive nights, Feb. 15-17, at Sam’s Town in Las Vegas. IMPACT Wrestling held TV tapings in the same arena last November and is scheduled to return to Las Vegas for more shows later in the year.

The NLFLVA will be represented by its president Linden King, a 13-year veteran NFL linebacker, who played with the San Diego Chargers and Los Angeles Raiders. The press conference will also feature appearances by numerous former NFL players, including:
  • Floyd Little, a three-time All-American at Syracuse University who was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame and then had a Pro Football Hall of Fame career with the Denver Broncos from 1967-75.
  • Morlon Greenwood, a linebacker from Syracuse University who played in the NFL from 2001-2009. He is the vice president of the NFL Alumni, Las Vegas chapter.
  • Tom Barnt, a defensive tackle for six seasons for the Kansas City Chiefs, the Cincinnati Bengals, and New York Jets from 1996-2001.
  • Lawrence Pinson, former linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals and New York Jets.
The press conference will detail the joint venture of IMPACT Wrestling and the NFLALV to support and promote numerous charities, including Morlon Greenwood Foundation, Core Academy and Gentleman By Choice, among others.

IMPACT Wrestling and NFL Alumni, Las Vegas Chapter Announce Alliance

TORONTO | LAS VEGAS – IMPACT Wrestling, a subsidiary of Anthem Sports & Entertainment Corp., and NFL Alumni, Las Vegas Chapter (“NFLALV”), are excited to announce a new partnership to advance NFLALV’s ‘Caring for Kids’ and ‘Care for our Own’ initiatives in Las Vegas, Nevada and support IMPACT Wrestling’s events in Las Vegas.

The partnership will include support by IMPACT Wrestling for fundraising initiatives directed to local charities supported by NFLALV, hosting opportunities for NFLALV-supported local charities in connection with Impact Wrestling events in Las Vegas, and participation by IMPACT Wrestling talent in NFLALV events.

To kick off this partnership, IMPACT Wrestling will participate in the Super Weekend Golf Tournament and NFL Players’ Alumni Mix ‘n Mingle Charity Silent Auction being hosted by NFLA Las Vegas on January 31 and February 1.

IMPACT Wrestling and Major League Wrestling Announce Collaboration for April 4 Events

TORONTO | NEW YORK CITY – IMPACT Wrestling, a subsidiary of Anthem Sports & Entertainment Corp., and Major League Wrestling (MLW), announced today that they will be collaborating for their events on April 4 by coordinating talent and schedules to ensure that fans can attend live events presented by both organizations when virtually the entire professional wrestling world descends upon the New York metropolitan area.

MLW will host “Rise of the Renegades” tapings on April 4 at 7:00 p.m. ET for its weekly television program “Fusion” airing on beIN Sports. IMPACT Wrestling Expands Broadcast Deal with MVStv in Mexico

TORONTO | MEXICO CITY – IMPACT Wrestling, a subsidiary of Anthem Sports & Entertainment Corp., announced today that it has renewed its broadcast deal for Mexico with Mexico City-based MVS Comunicaciones MVStv. 

IMPACT Wrestling launched on MVStv in 2018 and, after a successful start, has now reached a more comprehensive agreement with the Mexico City-based broadcast platform, covering more than 300 hours of IMPACT Wrestling programming, including the flagship weekly show IMPACT!, monthly One Night Only specials and tentpole pay-per-view events such as Slammiversary and Bound For Glory.

“Hot off the heels of a pair of successful events in Mexico City, we are thrilled to extend our partnership with MVStv to broadcast our premier content across Mexico,” said Ed Nordholm, president of IMPACT Wrestling. “We had more than 30 million social media engagements in Latin America across our YouTube, Facebook and Twitter platforms in 2018. TORONTO – IMPACT Wrestling, a subsidiary of Anthem Sports & Entertainment Corp., announced today an significant expansion of its digital presence, launching a live stream of the weekly two-hour IMPACT!flagship show o on Twitch  Fridays at 10:00 p.m. ET when it also premieres on Pursuit Channel across the U.S. 

The premiere episode of IMPACT! on Twitch debuts Friday, Jan. 11 at 10:00 p.m. ET on IMPACT Wrestling’s official Twitch channel – www.twitch.tv/impactwrestling. The show will feature the immediate aftermath from Homecoming in Nashville, IMPACT Wrestling’s first major pay-per-view event of the year.

“IMPACT Wrestling’s new broadcast arrangement on Pursuit Channel has given us the flexibility to develop distribution channels to bring our show to the cord cutters in our fan base,” said Ed Nordholm, president of IMPACT Wrestling. “We saw double digit growth in our digital audience in 2018, consistently setting and then breaking new records for engagement across our various digital and social media assets. WWE: DON JOSE MIGUEL PEREZ PADRE ¿CUANDO SE LE HARÁ JUSTICIA?

Para todos los que conocemos de lo que es la lucha libre, sabemos cuán importante es, ha sido y será la aportación de grandes hombres en la industria como lo fue don José Miguel Pérez, Padre. Una persona que cuando no se conocía de lucha libre en Puerto Rico ya estaba dando a conocer el nombre de la 100 x 35 en diferentes partes de los Estados Unidos y del mundo. 
La eterna combinación junto a Antonino Rocca sin duda alguna escribieron una icónica página en la historia de la lucha libre mundial. Junto a don José Miguel, Pedro Morales, don Pedro “Huracán” Castillo y Carlos Colon abrieron la brecha para que en Puerto Rico se le conozca como la universidad de la lucha libre en el mundo. 
Tanto don Pedro Morales como Carlos Colon ya han sido exaltados en el Salón de la Fama de la WWE. El primero en el 1995 y el segundo en el 2014, pero la pregunta que nos hacemos los que conocemos un poco de este deporte espectáculo y don José Miguel ¿Para cuándo?
¿Ósea Antonino Rocca tenía los méritos para entrar al recinto de los inmortales de la WWF hoy conocida como WWE pero José Miguel Pérez, Padre, no los tenía? Con una carrera que comenzó el 15 de octubre de 1954 en Montreal Canada con solo 17 años y se extendió hasta 1993 cuando tuvo su ultimo feudo contra el Profe. 
Fue y es junto a Rocca los primeros campeones en pareja del circuito de la NWA en el territorio de Nueva York, luego conocido por el campeonato mundial en pareja de la WWWF, WWF y como se le conoce hoy día WWE.
Esta pareja obtenga el record como estelaristas de 20 llenos totales en 31 ocasiones que estuvieron en la arena principal de la lucha libre en el mundo, el Madison Square Garden, bajo el mandato de Vince Macmahon Sr. Es el primer puertorriqueño en debutar en el Madison Square Garden de New York, abriéndoles paso a otros hispanos como Pedro Morales, Mil Mascaras, Eddie Guerrero, Carlito Caribean Cold, Rey Misterio, Savio Vega entre otros.
La carrera de don José Miguel Pérez, Padre se extendió a países tan lejano como Japón, Venezuela, República Dominicana, México, India, Cuba, Alemania, Brasil, Francia. En Puerto Rico fue uno de los fundadores junto al croata Víctor y Carlos Colon de la Capitol Sport Promotion, hoy conocida como la WWC o World Wrestling Council. Fue en dicha empresa donde gano el campeonato de Puerto Rico, teniendo su primer gran feudo contra “el Rayo de Bayamón” hoy conocido como “El general Barrabas”. Fue manejador de grandes luchadores, pero el más recordado por todos en Puerto Rico es quien sin duda se gano el corazón de grandes y chicos Migthy Igor.
En el 1989 se le dedico la segunda copa Gillette, celebrada en el estadio Hiram Bithon, en marzo del año 2000 la comisión de Lucha Libre de Puerto Rico lo reconoció como el galardón “Premiación del Milenio” y en noviembre de ese mismo año fue exaltado al salón de la fama del deporte en Santurce, Puerto Rico. Lamentablemente murió el 16 de julio del 2005 sin haber sido exaltado al Salón de los Inmortales de la WWE.
Si estas no son cualidades, datos y hazañas las cuales confirman que don José Miguel Pérez, Padre merece estar en el salón de la fama de la WWE, entonces que más necesitan los que escoge quien esta y quien no está. Porque decir que un Pete Rose, Donald Trump, Mike Tyson, Mr T, van por encima del legado la trayectoria de don José Miguel es faltarle el respeto crasamente.
Creo que los que seguimos de cerca este deporte espectáculo deseamos nuevamente escuchar que un puertorriqueño sea exaltado y en esta ocasión escuchar el nombre de don José Miguel Pérez, Padre, “El Eterno Ídolo de Borinquén” 
 ENCUENTRAN MUERTO EN AGUADILLA A EX LUCHADOR DE WWC



Aguadilla, Puerto Rico –  La División de Homicidios del C.I.C. de Aguadilla, investiga un incidente de suicidio, reportado a las 9:58 de la noche de ayer, en los predios de una residencia ubicada en el Bo. Guerrero, sector El Cañón de esa población.

Según se informó, allí se privó de la vida mediante ahorcamiento, Arnaldo José Miranda Ríos, de 41 años, residente en del lugar, el cual fue localizada por un familiar, quien reportó los hechos a las autoridades.


Miranda Ríos, se destacó como luchador profesional para la empresa WWC por espacio de una década tanto en la división de parejas, conocido como “Love Adonis” en la pareja llamada “Los Adorables” como individual se le conoció como “Bruno Valentín”.

Se conoce al momento de su fallecimiento llego a laborar como gerente de ventas en un conocido dealer en el área de Aguada. El Agente. Juan C. Pérez, de la citada División, en unión al Fiscal Rufino Jiménez, acudieron a la escena, haciéndose cargo del debido proceso investigativo.



FALLECE EL ÚNICO CAMPEÓN MUNDIAL DE WWE NACIDO EN PUERTO RICO DON PEDRO MORALES

Aguadilla, Puerto Rico –  Temprano en la tarde de hoy se ha notificado el fallecimiento de quien en vida fuera, don Pedro Morales, quien es el primer y único campeón mundial de la WWE, antes conocida como WWWF o WWF nacido en Puerto Rico.

¡El hombre grande de Culebra Puerto Rico!, como se le conoció o como también lo presentaba su compañero de narración el extinto mexicano Miguel Alonso, sin duda fue el pionero junto a Antonino Rocca, José Miguel Pérez Padre, Carlos Colon y don Pedro “Huracán” Castillo, en la empresa Capitol Sport Promotion a la que hoy se conoce como World Wrestling Council o WWC.

Morales nació un 22 de octubre de 1942 y  comenzó su carrera de lucha como adolescente en 1959 y continuó hasta finales de 1980. Entre sus grandes logros se encuentra el ser el primer hombre en la lucha libre de la historia en ganar los títulos importantes en la World  Wrestling Federation: el Campeonato de la WWE, el Campeonato Intercontinental y el Campeonato Mundial en parejas de la WWE

Logro ganar el máximo título al vencer al “perro ruso” Ivan Koloff. En el 1995 fue incluido en la primera clase del Salón de la Fama de la WWE. En Puerto Rico ganó el título de América del Norte WWC de Buddy Landel en junio de 1983 luego de perder a Sweet Daddy Siki en enero de 1984. Morales recuperó el título en marzo del 84, antes de perder a Randy Savage en septiembre del mismo año.
